Yes, the results are in~!
After 6 months of once a week training runs, achilles soreness, painful feet, bruised toes and tired muscles, John completed the 26.2 mile LA marathon in just over 6 hours.
My goal was to raise $1300 to provide clean water for 26.2 people but twenty-two friends and relatives gave a total of $1710 providing clean water in Africa for over 34 people. Let me say another thank you to everyone who encouraged me along the way... I could not have accomplished this alone! Total funds raised for Team World Vision by all runners in the LA marathon was over $700,000, wow!
Some of you may be asking if I will be running again... Let me answer that with a quote by 2 time Olympic gold medalist Frank Shorter:
"You have to forget your last marathon before you try another. Your mind can't know what's coming."
