John's enjoying Ghana!

John arrived safely in Accra yesterday evening and after a good nights sleep he went back to the airport and flew to Tamale.  We have been keeping in touch via What'sApp...but an hour ago I was surprised to have a video chat with him via Skype.  When we were last in Ghana in 2012, we were told that big changes were soon coming in Internet connect-ability and they apparently did; the friends he is staying with now have wifi in the house and it easily supported our video chat.  Yay!

Meanwhile, while John was arriving in Accra I was biking to the beach to reunite with Esther, a Ghana Discover alum from 2002 who was in California for a couple of days.  We were so engrossed in our conversation, however that we completely forgot to take any pictures of our time together!n

As you may have noticed, John's schedule has already deviated from what we sent out to some of you in our latest prayer letter.  He hopes to be in Tamale until the 19th when he will return to Accra in time for the rescheduled alumni party on the 21st.  He still hopes to travel to Benin on the 22nd.
