Chief Embraces New Responsibility After Translation Workshop

During the closing ceremony of the Taste of Translation workshop that was held in 2025, the Chief of the community, delivered a deeply moving speech. "I am filled with joy," he shared, "as I now have the chance to hear these words in our language, even though we used to hear them in Hausa. Honestly, following Jesus is a delightful experience."

These words were spoken after his community participated in a workshop which enabled them to experience translating and publishing the story of Jesus calming the storm. The Chief then acknowledged the ongoing responsibility of being local owners of their Bible translation project stating, "You have come to our community to sow a seed, and it is left for us to water it," which he expressed in Hausa: "Kun zo kun yi shuki sauran mu yi ban ruwa."
