Ghana prayer request
We have received some very sad news this past week from Ghana. There was a vehicular accident on Sunday May 29th involving a long time friend and co-worker of ours, Letitia Dzokoto. Although we are unclear as to what kind of vehicles were involved, we do know that between 10-20 people were killed including our own Letitia! (She was among
a group of 5 traveling from her church and 3 of the 5 died in the accident.)
John and I have known Daniel and Letitia since our early days in Ghana, back in the late 80's. Being only a few years younger than ourselves, they were one of our favorite Ghanaian couple friends; I clearly remember Letitia being the first Ghanaian woman friend of mine to grab my hand and hold it while we walked together (a sign of friendship in Ghana and many other parts of the world). She had a vibrant personality; her infectious laugh and passion for life and doing God's work will be missed by many.
Please join us in prayer for Daniel, her husband, for their young daughter, Dzifa and all of GILLBT (Dzokotos have been heading up the Scripture in Use dept for many years now) who are grieving at this time. And please pray for us as well; I know the full impact of this will not hit us until we reach Tamale, with a team of 15 others that we will need to be tending to. Orientation is a physically and emotionally exhausting time normally, and now we will have grieving thrown into the mix.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
