We've arrived!

We're here!  God blessed us with our easiest and most comfortable travel experience to Ghana yet, and we thought it would be hard to beat last years trip!   Stan and Rachel Sawyer from Seabreeze church kindly drove us to the airport....it's so nice to have friends take us and hug as we depart.  Once again, we were completely checked in at LAX in only a half hour, (on line check in is so awesome!)  so we were able to relax, eat our packed lunch and make some final phone calls before boarding our first flight.  Both flights we sat at exit rows, which made a huge difference in our comfort level.....we were able to take some brisk walks at both LAX and Heathrow, which helped our energy levels, and we found a quite seating area at Heathrow with comfortable club chairs to spend our several hour layover relaxing on.  Kojo from GILLBT was waiting for us at Kotoka Airport and took us directly to the Assembly of God Guesthouse; total travel time from leaving our Huntington Beach front door to arrival at the Guest House was 26 1/2 hours.  Although electricity is not currently available 24 hours a day because of the low level of water at the Akosombo Dam, we were blessed to have it on when we arrived so we could get settled easily......and we had a great nights sleep!  It is now 10:30 am, and John and I are getting ready to make our way into town to pick up some groceries for the next few days before the team arrives, go to the GILLBT guest house to pick up some team supplies we left last year and (once again) make a few phone calls!)  There's lots to do, but we're taking it a relaxed pace.......

John just called Rita, (our African daughter) so our cell phone is up and working; for those of you who want to know, our number is 233 24 6565136

I'm not sure when we will be able to send this out, but hopefully will get to sometime today.  If not, I'm sorry you've had to wait awhile for this news, but this is how it goes sometimes!

Thanks so much for your prayers that are traveling with us each and every step of this journey!     In His love; Shevawn & John
