March Update
These past two months we have been increasingly amazed at how God has provided us with wonderful opportunities to be reunited with friends we hadn’t heard from or seen in ages, as well as to begin relationships with new friends. It has been so encouraging to be loved and affirmed by so many, each in their unique ways.
God has also been pouring out his blessings on us financially. Since our last prayer letter, eight new people have committed to partnering with us and one existing partner has increased their giving, which has brought our support up by $523! That means that now we are only lacking $542 each month. With April fast approaching, (the month our sending church stops sending us $1500 in monthly support) the gap is being closed!
More encouraging news: we had a couple of really good meetings with churches that are considering some type of involvement with us and our ministry. Our time with several members of the Missions Committee of Northminster Presbyterian was relaxed and fun…..largely because we had met many of them in October, when they came to an African dinner party we prepared during our previous trip to Tucson. These MC members will be reporting to the rest of the committee with their recommendations about partnering with us in the near future.
We also met with the Missions Pastor of Heights Church in Prescott (thanks to Norm, a Discovery volunteer who recently moved to AZ and has been talking to his pastor about our needs.) We got to learn a bit about the church; Sam (the pastor) got to learn a bit about us…and the church is going to start by supporting us in prayer and we’ll all see where it goes from there. We are very encouraged to have had two good interactions with churches that we have no previous history with. That is something we have rarely experienced before; never twice in two weeks!
So many of these wonderful connections have happened because God has blessed our friends’ efforts. Individuals who receive our prayer letters have talked with their pastors, or invited their friends over to meet us, and God has taken it from there.
In closing, we’d like to share a couple Discovery Prayer request updates. All of our Discovery trips are full now! Currently, we desire prayer support as we conduct a training session March 17-18 for the leaders of the Solomon Islands team, as we make preparations for the various trips that will take place this summer, and as we help the participants to prepare.
Thanks so much for your faithful prayers!
John & Shevawn Ramsey
