October Praise and Prayer Requests
So much has happened in the few weeks….here are some things we invite you to praise and pray with us about:
· Ryan’s in the house!…or in the office; the Discovery office that is! Ryan joined us as a full time Discovery staff person; he plans to be with us for one year. We are so excited to have him!
· Insufficient trips for 2009 - Two of the trips John had lined up for the coming year have had to cancel unexpectedly, so John and Ryan are scrambling to find other places that are willing to host Discovery teams. It’s pretty late in the game to be trying to set things up….we would really appreciate your prayers that God would guide everyone involved in this process.
· African Adventure Open Houses – The next two Saturdays (Oct 25th and Nov 1st) we are hosting these events to inform people about our ministry and invite them to partner with us. Already God has provided $600 of the $1200 a month support we are lacking; we are praying that God will work through these events to close our remaining funding gap.
· Ghana trip in November - I know, it surprised us as well! John will be going to Ghana Nov 6th–21st as part of a four member team that is connected with The Well, the house church association that we have become involved with in the last few months. Although we had hoped to both be home this fall, it became apparent to us that this was something God was asking us to be willing to do for a number of reasons. And so, after consulting with our Wycliffe leadership, we agreed to go. Please pray for John, and his teammates Joe, Allie and Kristine, that God will work in them and through them as they seek to solidify some developing partnerships in Ghana. While John is gone, we will use the Blog as our primary means of keeping you up to date.
