Off we go!

Early this morning, before sun rise, our 10 Discoverers departed for their various language projects; as of this moment, 1 team has reported their safe arrival while the others are still in transit. Four to six of them will need to spend the night in Accra before traveling on to their final destination. John and I spent the day debriefing our Orientation experience with our co-leaders; tomorrow we will re-organize and repack as we prepare to move from the guest house into the home of good friends of ours for much of the time our participants are away. Hopefully next week we will share a bit more about how our orientation went.

While we were debriefing today, a severe storm sent a deluge of strong winds and rain on Tamale and its environs; in some areas (not the guest house where we are staying however) there was flooding and some people lost their homes. In addition to the current crisis these people are dealing with, the destructive storm will severely affect the crops of the many farmers who have already planted for the season. Your prayers for the people of Tamale would be much appreciated.
