Sunday July 29th update

I am writing this update not knowing when I will have internet access to send it, but hopefully the news will not be too stale when it does post on our blog. 8-) Here's a summary of what has happened since we last wrote:
Six out of our ten participants arrived in Tamale after 11 pm, so we had to re-adjust our plans for the team since we normally begin to cover some of our debrief curriculum that night. That meant we had lots of material that had to be covered their first full day back, which made for a bit of re-entry shock for many of the members of our team as they readjusted to both coming together again and a heavily structured program. It was a challenging day for the leaders as well, but things really settled down on Saturday and we all enjoyed a calm, productive and unifying time together. Maame Esi also arrived late last night; we were very excited to see her!
This morning most of our team went to church and lunch out afterwards while John and I remained home with one participant, who has a health issue significant enough for us to seek a Doctor on a Sunday morning (something that can be challenging in any place!) It took a couple of hours before we were able to talk to a Dr. on the phone...during which we were all able to enjoy some rest in the comfort of our guest house as we waited. The Dr. talked to our participant and advised us to come see him tomorrow morning, which we are all fine with. We do appreciate your prayers about this situation as it plays out.
We have three more days of debriefing together here in Tamale before we get on the bus on Thursday to make the approximately 13+ hour trip to Accra. Please pray for all of us, that we will be open to the insights God has for us, for strength for the hard processing work we are all doing, and for our travel back to Accra. Thanks so much for your continued support of our team in this way!

Monday update: our participant and accompanying Discovery leader are back from the dr. and all seems to be going well. 8-)
