Tying together loose ends

We’ve been back in CA 10 days now, and while we had an easy recovery from jet lag, our overall energy levels are still a bit low. Guess that’s a combination of leader fatigue plus our age (the later which we are continually in some sort of denial about!) We have been loved on by friends (among them our neighbor Angela, who had a meal and fresh produce waiting for us in the fridge with lovely notes attached 8-)…and our “daughter” Marina, who brought us Indian food and baby Lily, whom we got to meet for the first time!) It has been lovely to begin reconnecting with our children as well as neighbors and friends, even while being simultaneously sad about physically disengaging from those we love in Ghana and from our Discovery 2012 team.

John and I have plans to take a much needed vacation beginning next week; meanwhile we have been getting caught up on bills and other household tasks as well as Discovery office work (lots of tying up tasks from this year’s trips while also beginning to line up next year’s trips), unpacking and putting things away….all at a somewhat lethargic pace. I recently realized that I have been on the go for pretty much 7 months now, so I am truly thankful for the upcoming promise of rest and refreshment.

Very soon after our vacation, we will send out a prayer letter with a report and pictures about this summer’s Discovery experiences; more photos will be going up here on our blog as well. While we are silent, we would appreciate your prayers not only for our physical refreshment, but also for insight as we spend some time listening to God, asking Him for direction in our various ministries and for our lives in general. We pray that God would richly bless you and guide you as well!
