Discovering South Asia

Discovery spent 2 weeks in B-town with lots of variety as we partnered with "Throw The Net" colleagues doing holistic ministry.

This is the reason for the school pictures above... we visited a slum community to assist at a dental camp.  The dentist was doing initial check-ups on a few hundred kids and they basically wanted us to help distract the other kids as small groups were called in to see the dentist.   

One of the women's groups that the Discovery team got to interact with.  They enjoyed both telling and hearing stories, on all sorts of topics including family, culture and Bible stories. 

Throw The Net visits this leper community every month and is seeing a lot of progress.  The invited us to join them and they trained us in wound cleaning and dressing.  

The leper community was in a neighboring state so it was a full day to drive there and back combined with our serving them.

This pastor came with us to the leper community and he preached in their local language!

Many of the Throw The Net staff are Brazilians... on our final day in B-town, we celebrated 11 years of Throw The Net ministry with a grand Brazilian churrasco (BBQ) feast!
