Transitioning from Summer to Fall

The month of August has gone by so very quickly; it included John’s return from his Discovery trip to South Asia, recovery from a knock-you-down cold virus that he brought back with him and shared with me, visits from two of our colleagues/friends from Wycliffe USA in Orlando, and eventually a return to our more typical routine.   It now truly feels like summer is drawing to a close as John wraps up our 2014 Discovery trips and I begin planning an upcoming trip to visit our partners in Arizona….all while Discovery undergoes some significant changes.

Long story short, up until recently there were multiple overseas trips & internship programs within Wycliffe USA; beginning this fall we are now under one program with three different tracks.  One of those tracks is, our Discovery program, which John and I are still working with; basically the same trips we have always been coordinating.  There is, however a lot to sort through in the coming months as we merge departmentally…..along with a name change as we will all now be known as Discover….which shouldn't be to confusing for us since we have only lost 1 letter of our name.  A tad more confusing for the other programs (formerly known as GetGlobal and Internships), but I’m sure we’ll all be comfortable with our new name in no time at all.

Here are some ways you can pray for us in the coming days:
  • Praise the Lord for the successful completion of our Discovery 2014 trips…and pray for fruit from them as participants continue to process their experiences and seek God’s leading in their lives.
  • Praise the Lord for each and every one of our financial and prayer partners…and pray for guidance as we plan a trip designed to connect with as many of our partners in Arizona as we possibly can.  Please also pray for new partners to join with us.
  • Praise the Lord for the good things that can result from this departmental merge…and pray for wisdom for all involved and the ability to work well together as we rebuild some important infrastructure.

Thanks so much for your prayerful support!
