Changes in our Income: a Not so Perfect Storm

  

 Since the beginning of 2016, we have experienced a large and unexpected change in our ministry funding.  One of our friends who was partnering with us in our Wycliffe ministry experienced a job loss, while death claimed some other dear partners of ours.  Such hard times are painful for all involved; we have been sad with our friends and their families who have been hurting.  These life events also have had the ripple effect of bringing our income down below 100% of the ministry budget established by Wycliffe for our ministry for the first time in years.

   In addition to these losses, recently Wycliffe USA announced that ministry budgets for their missionaries were going to be updated.  Wycliffe had found the base salary level that was in current use no longer adequate to cover sufficient allowances for emergencies, retirement, long-term saving, health needs, etc.  So our ministry budget underwent a major readjustment…which resulted in us currently experiencing a major shortfall in our funding levels as compared to our new budget. 

The bottom line is this: our newly revised ministry

 budget is $900 a month more that what we are

currently receiving each month.  

 Would you please prayerfully consider whether this might be a good time for you to begin partnering with us financially or-if you’re already partnering with us in our ministry- increasing your financial partnership with us?   If our income remains below 90% of our ministry budget for long, we will be required to take time away from our current roles as Field Coordinator and Volunteer/Internship Coordinator in order to focus on developing new partnerships.  This is something we would prefer not to do at this point because of the ripple effects that would have for us and our colleagues.
