Ika Full Bible update

One of the Bible translation projects that John is involved with in Nigeria is the Ika.  The Ika already had a New Testament, so this phase of the project concentrated on the Old Testament and Jesus Film.  

We have just one year remaining to complete the project.  We are very thankful that the team discovered an increasing number of local people who could help with a final read-through of the Ika Bible to prepare it for publication. All the translation has been checked by consultants. The team just completed advanced training in preparation for typesetting.  

We’re partnering with more than 345,000 Ika people, who are already on a roll with Bible translation. With the support of the Nigeria Bible Translation Trust and Evangel Bible Translators, the team has brought the Ika New Testament near to publication, as of Spring 2010. But these people very much want a complete Bible.

The people of Nigeria are a strong focus for The Seed Company and our partners, because of the sheer number of 514 languages spoken. Astonishingly, about 75-percent of these languages are without any translated Scripture!
