Volunteer Bible Translation Help Needed

Sometimes you need to climb a mountain to get a cell signal

Some of you might have seen this on our FaceBook...

Volunteer Bible Translation Help Needed
No experience required!
SIL has developed a translation tool called Scripture App Builder that greatly facilitates producing contextual Scripture apps from translated audio and text resources. One of the key features is the ability to play the Scripture audio as people read the text, the app highlighting each phrase as it is read. The goal is to bring more clarity and also help in literacy.
Scripture App Builder does a fairly good job of automatically syncing the text and audio so it highlights correctly, but it still sometimes has issues, and the text highlighting needs to be "fine-tuned" by a real human. For a whole NT, this could take one person several weeks. A group based in Northern Ireland has created a system whereby volunteers can get some training to help check these timings and then automatically receive chapters to check. They sign up, get the simple training, and then can request a book of the Bible to work on. It takes about 10-20 minutes to check one chapter, and volunteers can set their own schedule and weekly goals, the only requirement being that they commit to making reasonable progress. You do not need to install or understand Scripture App Builder, just have a careful ear and motivation to see Scripture impact lives!

Many more volunteers are needed!

This is a great opportunity for anyone that wants to make an impact for the Bibleless people of the world.

Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering or just want more information.
Thanks!
