Church centric Bible Translation

Community Based Quality Assurance means that the local church plays a central role in improving, verifying the quality and authenticating their Bible translation.

Recently, a one day pilot project brought together fifty local church leaders (elders, deacons, deaconesses and pastors) to do community Scripture checking. The church leaders were joined by translation consultants and mother tongue Bible translators. If and when this model becomes more widely adopted, this aspect of Church based Bible translation has the potential to save time for the qualified translation consultants who are in short supply and act as the final quality control check in the Bible translation process. The pilot day was a huge success and will be continued in this project and likely adopted by other projects as well.

In the morning one of the participants, Gloria introduced herself as a "Pastors Wife and business woman", by the end of the day she added: "and Now I do this. Bible Translation."
