Holistic Ministry

Have you ever heard of Holistic Bible translation?

Here's a glimpse into a holistic Bible translation project.

This three-year project continues previous Bible translation in this community. The project has a focus on engagement with the community and the Church in using materials developed in the previously. The materials produced to address felt needs in the community will be rolled out during the project. Therefore, the goal for this project will be to establish Bible Study Groups in partnership with local churches to study the Book of Ephesians, targeting to stabilize families, and Bible study on the Book of Ruth, targeting empowering women in the community. Similarly, the project aims to empower Sunday School teachers to use short Bible stories to plant the seed of the God's Word in young lives.

The project will translate Leviticus, 1 & 2 Samuel, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Habakkuk and Ezra to address the needs identified by the church, together with a Bible Study on Ephesians for church unity. The project will begin adult literacy classes for the community to use the developed books on health, agriculture, and clean drinking water. The project will also address the problem of poor sanitation by developing advocacy materials in partnership with the Ministry of public health to advocate for the proper use of sanitation facilities.

How is this different than what you thought Bible translation looked like?
