home in Ghana

Hey Guys,

We set a Ramsey record at LAX this year; 25 minutes after entering Bradley terminal we were checked in and all our luggage was whisked away!  Incredible!  (The other extreme was the year Leanna went with John, when the process took close to 3 hours and they were the last on the plane!)  So, our trip was off to an amazing start!  We had a relaxed lunch (thanks for packing it for us Leanna!) and met up with Naphtili, a Discoverer who was on her way to a different DISCOVERY trip 2 days late (which is a whole 'nother story!)  After rather uneventful and almost leisurely feeling (although very tiring ) flights, we arrived safely in Accra and we hope to enjoy a couple days Rest&Recovery before our participants arrive on Tuesday!  Our African daughter Rita picked us up at the Accra airport as planned and there was a nice cool rain shower to cool our first nights sleep;-)

Also when I switched on our Ghana mobile phone, it said "SIM card registration failed"  which in layman's terms, means we won't be able to use this phone till I have a chance to visit a Space Phone office and sort things out.  I'll let you all know if we get to keep our old number or if it gets changed.

choosing joy under African skies,

We like the proverb! Oh, we found one too...from Illinois... "if you are goin' to be dumb, you better be tough"

Glad you guys made it there uneventfully...look forward to more updates. Oh, by the way, Neil survived the Pier swim! (More details to come..).
