Enjoying Ghana Day 4
We're midway through our fourth day in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, enjoying the food and the cool rainy season climate....as well as seeing friends old and new. Besides being re-united with some of our Ghana Institute of Linguistics Literacy and Bible Translation colleagues, we had the pleasure of seeing our daughter Rita and her family for a couple of hours yesterday after church. After they departed, we headed towards the ocean to visit Christine and Sol Moghadam and their children, including the newest four they are adopting. So much fun to eat red-red, palaver sauce, yam, and pizza with them, as they embrace multiple cultures!
Yesterday our Ghanaian participants began arriving, and we were so happy to see them. Yet our joy was bittersweet as it became apparent that over half of our Ghanaian participants had cancelled in the last 48 hours, and one of our American participants also had to bow out at the last because of insufficient funds. This will make 2012 the smallest Ghana Discovery team since Ghanaian participants came to be on our trips. We would appreciate your prayers as we make adjustments, and for the morale of the team as we all grieve over these losses.
