Germany Meetings

I mentioned a week of meetings in Germany.
As you might (not) guess, this is a physical representation of how we "balance" different aspects of Bible translation projects!

I first met Prosper in Benin Republic during a 2013 Discovery trip.
At that time he was the project manager for the New Testament translation of Idaasha.
Now Prosper has added Field Coordinator to his job titles.

It's always nice to meet old friends at a work meeting.

A big surprise and encouragement was spending time with a Discovery Alumni from 2015 along with his wife. They were not in our meetings but were volunteering at Wycliffe Germany for the week as they progress on their journey of becoming Bible translators. Also pictured is a young friendly Wycliffe volunteer from Czech Republic.

Our meeting swag included a Kinder Egg with strict instructions to eat it before re-entering USA or possibly face repercussions for bringing illegal candy into the country.  If you have never heard of this before... google it.

One bonus Germany highlight was the weekend following our meetings when I got to hang out with Samuel (and his lovely family) who is a Discovery alumni from Ghana 2002. He just completed his PhD in Linguistics!

Cultures are amazing, here's the fusion we enjoyed for the weekend while drinking German beer with Ghanaian food!

This blog post is getting a bit long.
Please allow me to wait till next time to post photo highlights from Nigeria!
