Accra discovery day 1
so far our Ghana Discovery team consists of 13 team members (8 American/Finnish/Slovakians and 5 Ghanaians) plus our leadership team of me, Claudia and Pat. I drove 3 times to Kotoka airport yesterday and only got one parking ticket, which I was upset at myself for... but then the sermon that I had listened to on Sunday regarding humility came back to me and I began to laugh at myself and suddenly things came back into perspective:-)
By the 3rd trip when lessons had been learned and stress had gone down I enjoyed the 11 pm arrival of Lea on Egypt air from Cairo.
Tonight we'll likely retun to the airport to look for the luggage of those who flew in from SEA-TAC.
This morning was a full day of orientation in which flexiblity was key... as the usual people came to do business with me while the other leaders continued with "class". Mrs Georgina Quasie the Director of The Ghana Institute of Linguistics Literacy and Bible Translation gave a comprehensive overview of the 46 year history of this ministry in Ghana followed by lunch out with both her and her daughter Karen. The restaurant where we enjoyed Garri-Foto, Banku and Jollof was at the back of Sunny FM where I was invited to return tomorrow to appear on air to talk about our Discovery ministry;-) I want to thank and acknowledge all you who partner, encourage, help, volunteer in all your various ways... there is NO way that we could do this work alone. enjoying Accra and the people here,
john (mr wumbe)
